The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has arrested three additional suspects in Nairobi linked to the violent disruption of a meeting at the All Saints Cathedral, bringing the total number of people in custody to five as detectives intensify efforts to dismantle the network behind the attack.

According to the DCI, detectives from the Kilimani Police Division and the Nairobi Regional Office tracked down the suspects at separate hideouts across the city following what authorities described as a forensic and intelligence-led operation.

During the operation, officers recovered a red Boxer motorcycle believed to have been used during the incident. They also seized mobile phones belonging to the suspects, which have been forwarded to forensic experts for analysis in an effort to retrieve communication records and establish links to other individuals involved.

The three newly arrested suspects join two others who were apprehended earlier. Police said all five are currently being processed at various stations ahead of their arraignment in court.

Investigators believe the attack was carried out by a larger and well-coordinated group. Preliminary forensic findings indicate that more individuals were involved in planning and executing the raid, prompting detectives to widen investigations and pursue additional suspects.

In a statement, the DCI condemned the disruption of the meeting, emphasizing that places of worship are sacred spaces that should remain free from violence and intimidation.

The agency warned that individuals responsible for violating the sanctity of religious institutions or disrupting lawful gatherings would be held accountable.

Investigations into the incident are ongoing as detectives seek to identify and apprehend all those connected to the attack.
