The Confederation of African Volleyball (CAVB) has officially launched a technical inspection programme in Kenya as part of preparations for the 2026 Women’s African Nations Volleyball Championship.
The advance inspection team arrived in the country on February 24, 2026, led by Sadik Zaid Nasiwu, President of the Uganda Volleyball Federation, who is overseeing the inspection process ahead of the arrival of the CAVB President. He was accompanied by Walter A. Otieno, a former Kenya Volleyball Federation (KVF) official and a current member of the CAVB Sports Organising Commission (SOC) and CAVB Technical Department.
The CAVB President, Bouchra Hajij, is expected to join the delegation during the second phase of the inspection scheduled for next month.
The KVF delegation, led by Deputy President Paul Bitok—who also serves on the CAVB Coaches Commission—has been actively involved in the inspection exercise and strategic engagements with the continental body.
