AFC Leopards delivered a ruthless performance on Sunday after thrashing Shabana FC 5-1 in an entertaining Kenyan Premier League clash at the iconic Nyayo National Stadium.

The match attracted a huge crowd of passionate supporters from both sides, creating a lively atmosphere as the two historic clubs faced off. Among those present was Hussein Mohammed alongside several key stakeholders in Kenyan football.

Ingwe started the game with intent and were rewarded in the 17th minute when Samuel Semo broke the deadlock to give AFC Leopards the lead. The home side continued pressing and just before the halftime whistle, Tyson Otieno doubled the advantage in the 45th minute, sending Leopards fans into celebration as the teams headed into the break with Ingwe firmly in control.

After the restart, Shabana FC showed signs of a comeback when Wycliffe Awiko pulled one back in the 61st minute, briefly raising hopes for the visitors.

However, the joy lasted only a minute.

Samuel Ssenyonjo restored Leopards’ two-goal cushion in the 62nd minute before Kayci Odhiambo added the fourth in the 70th minute as Shabana’s defense struggled to contain the attacking wave.

Ssenyonjo was not done yet. The forward completed his brace in the 74th minute, sealing a dominant 5-1 victory and capping off a memorable afternoon for Ingwe supporters.

The emphatic win boosts AFC Leopards’ confidence as the league campaign intensifies, while Shabana will need to regroup quickly after the heavy defeat.

With the electric atmosphere, goals galore, and a statement performance from Ingwe, the clash proved why Kenyan Premier League football continues to captivate fans across the country.
