League leaders Gor Mahia produced a commanding display to beat KCB 3–0 in a Kenyan Premier League clash played on Sunday at Nyayo National Stadium.
K’Ogalo asserted their dominance early, scoring all three goals in a blistering first-half performance that effectively settled the contest. Enock Morrison broke the deadlock before Sharif Musa added a second moments later. Samuel Kapen then capped the strong start with a third goal just before halftime.
The emphatic victory sees Gor Mahia tighten their grip at the top of the table, stretching their lead to six points with 46 points as the title race gathers momentum.
Reacting after the match, KCB head coach Robert Matano attributed the defeat to the heavy rainfall that affected playing conditions.
“The rain made the pitch very slippery, and it was difficult for us to play our normal game,” Matano said.
Gor Mahia head coach Charles Akonnor, however, praised his side for their efficiency and defensive solidity.
“We took our chances well in the first half, which decided the game. I’m also pleased with how our defense has grown stronger and more resilient in recent matches,” Akonnor noted.
The result sends a clear message to Gor Mahia’s title rivals, while KCB will be keen to regroup ahead of their next league assignment.
